Those of you who know something about Sony Ericsson mobile phones would know that this company categorizes its phones.
The music phones_ W series_ for those who love music. The K series for those who are into taking pictures. The P series for business men or business men wannabes. So each phone is designed to meet your interests which is something I really admired.
The problem is Men do not want something to meet their interests or desires, they just want everything! I am talking based on an experience, they would come around ask about the features of the mobile and they are always disappointed about the missing feature even though they know quiet well that they don't need it, want it nor know how to use it!
But they know this..they just want it !
They want the best camera, the best sound, the most elegant and whatever else a mobile has to offer. They are not willing to make any compromises. They were so confused at the thought that mobiles are categorized. You want the best camera then your mobile wouldn’t be the most elegant. You want the best sound then your mobile wouldn’t have the best camera. They couldn’t understand why?! Why can't they just have everything?!
But the real question is Why would you want everything?! Because you sure as hell don't Need everything. And when they are asked this question they are even more perplexed!!
Why want everything?!!! Because you can..because you should!
Aside from that, they are constantly comparing. Its not as easy as you see a mobile you examine its features ,you like..you buy..NOOO! God forbid! You have to compare it to all the other models of the same company and then compare what all the other companies have to offer and after all that you won't buy what you want.
You are a Man, you don't just settle for what you want..You absolutely have to get the Best, the Most and the Greatest mobile. So that when you sit with your mucho friends and compare mobiles..yours win. And again it doesn’t matter whether it's what you want or not.
That's why they prefer Nokia. Nokia also categorizes its phones but still a phone that is from the music edition you would find that it has other features out of the understanding of the nature of men.
I know that how men buy their mobile phones may seem kind of trivial to you, that’s true. But the reason that it's not to me is that it also applies strongly on how they choose women nowadays. Read the article again and you'll find the resemblance yourself..enjoy!

I find the topic very interesting, thats why i chose to reply, and will not turn this to a blog reply but rather brief as possible.
I liked the way you classified phones, by series, which is in a way very true, men usually tend to look at phones that are mainly classified as decending from a certain series, belonging to a certain group and having some sort of common trait, this is what triggers the purchasing instinct in the first place. and yes, i agree that phones are classified, and the manufacturer has not put everything in one single phone. taste varies and so are the models.

well, despite what you say might be true, men are not actually looking for everything, but rather be equipped with something they could rely on, something they could, in case of emergency find working and responsive, not freaking out and giving strange beeps and sounds, and not turning off whenever you need it the most. Men are looking for a phone that is durable, sleek, and DOES the purpose, without having to hang every time you press a button, not mentioning pressing 2 buttons at the same time.

Men as i mentioned earlier, dont want everything, give a man a phone with guarentee it will be working when you need it, and another with fancy items of tech like camera or so, that would probably need constant charging, the answer would be the first.

I agree 100%, men are more looking for a phone that would actually last some time , not a disposable one, thats why they may spend a hell of a time picking, comparing, trying out, or even, asking for some grace period to see whether this phone might be the right one or not.

there is no resemblance what so ever, unless you are implying men have the buying power to buy the phones they want at times they desire, and that women are more of a shelf commodity waiting for the buyer to come and pick them up before they become outdated. Women are not a product, and i think the majority of women kind can assure so.

i dont relly think girls will want to be categorized like sony ericsson, K-series = good camera but no music files so a girl woudl be pretty looking but no brains, or brains but look ugly ..................? another thing is i dont understand wht u try to say for guys, why go for something that has limited options when u can go for something with more options ?
so you want guys to leave something which has everything
and go for something that is lacking, just cause it is specialized?
